An Arts Society Lecture by Helen McIldowie-Jenkins
The talk examines what the ancient Nativity icon from the Orthodox East actually means and why late Trecento art shows something different? The lecture traces the fascinating development of the Nativity image, from its Byzantine roots to the more familiar devotional images from late 14th century Italy.
Venue: Sacred Heart Church Hall, Edge Hill, London SW19 4LU. Lectures are also available on Zoom.
Time: 8 – 9.30 pm (with coffee available from 7.30 pm)
