We are delighted to announce that thanks to the overwhelming generosity and compassion of our fabulous local residents and businesses, the 2024 Wimbledon Village Winter Coat Drive collected an astounding 720 items! From the smallest contribution to the largest, every act of kindness played a part in this incredible achievement and underlines what an amazing community spirit we have here in the Village.
Organised by James Nouri of Robert Holmes & Co, and supported by four other local businesses – the Rose & Crown, Swords Travel, Peacock & Co Solicitors and Westside Tennis Club – the Village Coat Drive was launched in support of a Capital-wide initiative by charity Calling London to collect warm coats and distribute them to vulnerable individuals and groups across the capital. This year’s campaign saw over 10,000 coats collected across London which are now being distributed to food banks, homeless shelters, refugee groups, mother and baby groups, and to charities working with modern slavery.
