A Brush with Nature: Family Sketching Workshop

A unique family-friendly workshop combining art, nature and local history and learn sketching skills on Wimbledon Common. All materials are provided.

 

When: Sunday March 16th, 2 – 4 pm

 

Where: Meet at Wimbledon Museum with a visit to A Brush with the Past, a special exhibition showcasing works by ten contemporary artists who have each painted scenes from Wimbledon Common inspired by artworks from the Museum’s collection. IIlustrator and educator Louise Hung will then lead you to Wimbledon Common where you will learn to observe and sketch your surroundings. In the event of rain, the workshop will move to the Lingfield Room, located next to the exhibition. Here, families will work together to build a creative indoor forest and explore techniques for sketching it.

 

This workshop is suitable for children aged 7+ who must attend with a parent or carer, who is warmly encouraged to participate. All skill levels welcome. To ensure a quality experience for all, a maximum of two children per parent/carer applies.

 

Tickets; £12 per child, plus booking free. Parent/carer tickets free.
