AELTC Tours of Proposed Public Park

On September 27th, The Greater London Authority resolved to approve the planning application for the expansion of the The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) grounds, which includes the creation of a public park on the former Wimbledon Park Golf Course.

To share more details about their plans, The All England Lawn Tennis Club is offering the opportunity for local residents to experience the proposed new public parkland by joining a guided tour.  On the tour you will get a preview of the proposed parkland in situ and hear from the AELTC experts on how they plan to enhance the character of the landscape, bring back historic lost features, increase biodiversity and look after nature, trees and wildlife.

The tours, which take approximately 60-75 minutes followed by a short Q&A, will take place from 9.30 – 10.45am, 11.30am – 12.45pm and 2.15 – 3.45pm, on:

  • Friday 25 October
  • Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November
  • Friday 17 January
  • Friday 21 February
  • Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March
  • Friday 25 April

To sign up for a tour please email community@aeltc.com no later than 5pm on the Wednesday in the week of the tour taking place, stating your name, email address, mobile number, postcode and which day/time you would like to attend. Spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis. Everyone who has been booked on to a tour slot will receive an email the day before the tour confirming final details. Additional tours may be added if required.

The tours will take place outdoors and regardless of the weather so it’s recommended you wear comfortable footwear and waterproof items (if possible). The site consists of flat terrain on grass or gravel paths, with muddy patches in places.
