Over 100 walkers of all ages, plus 10 dogs, headed to Wimbledon Village to celebrate the first anniversary of the Wimbledon Common and Village Walk & Talk group on Saturday.

The walk was led by Stephen Hammond MP, who led the launch event of the Walk & Talk 12 months ago and Village Ward Councillor Max Austin. A number of other councillors, parliamentary candidates, and representatives from numerous local societies and associations were also present, along with 12 of the regular Walk & Talk volunteers and co-ordinator, Rob Noble.

Members of the local charity Medical Life Lines Ukraine (MLLU), also joined the gathering, along with an MLLU ambulance.  This extraordinary charity sends ambulances full of aid to Ukraine to support the civilian war effort.

To date MLLU has sent 62 ambulances to Ukraine, largely fundraised for, and driven by, local residents. To find out more about their work please visit their website.
