The Wimbledon Common Nature Club welcomes children aged 6-14 to discover the world of nature on the Common – from spotting the ‘First Signs of Spring’, to finding out about the beasties living in the ponds or joining a Mini Beast Safari. Children can learn how to make a den, identify wild fungi, discover the secret life of honey bees, make a bird feeder using natural resources and much, much more.
The club meets on the first Sunday of the month at the Information Centre near the Rangers Office on the Common from 10 am – 12 pm, and each session has a different theme/activity. There is no need to book to attend, but newcomers are asked to meet at 9.45am to register.
The sessions are free of charge but donations are welcomed to contribute to the cost of materials and visiting guest expenses.
