1. Rose & Crown
This Village pub offers the best of both worlds: a large, secluded sun-trap courtyard to the rear and perfectly positioned people-watching tables out at the front. In the Summer their menu of pub classics and daily specials is supplemented with a sizzling range of burgers served up from their courtyard Burger Shack. Pair this with an extensive drinks offering including Pimm’s on tap, chilled crisp rosé, perfectly poured pints and a selection of summer spritz options and it makes this local favourite hard to beat!
2. Dog & Fox
Located at the very heart of the Village, this Youngs pub offers not one but two large roadside terraces to hang out and people watch. You’ll even see the horses trot by as Wimbledon Village Stables is located right next door. Enjoy a sparkling gin spritz on their quintessential Sipsmith Sipping Terrace, or sup on a pint (or a few) while soaking up the sunshine. They have an extensive food menu, including daily specials and are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
3. Light on the Common
This popular neighbourhood restaurant serves an extensive menu of modern European food using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. A wide range of wines are available by the glass, carafe and bottle, as well as beers and cocktails. In addition to a number of pavement tables, Light on the Common has recently installed an attractive roadside ‘parklet’ to increase its al fresco dining space. It’s open for breakfast lunch and dinner and has a Happy Hour from 4 – 6 pm Monday to Friday.
4. Maison St Cassien
This well established independent café and restaurant’s position in the very heart of the Village, together with its plentiful outdoor seating makes it an ideal spot to sit back, relax and watch the world go by. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week the substantial and varied Mediterranean and Lebanese-inspired menu and friendly and relaxed atmosphere has made it a firm favourite with locals and visitors, as well as quite a few famous faces, particularly during the Championships.
5. The Ivy Café Wimbledon
Located at the heart of the Village, The Ivy Café provides a relaxed yet stylish all-day dining experience seven days a week. As well as an intimate covered garden terrace to the rear which is ideal if you prefer shade, the sunny pavement terrace of the Ivy Café is also a great al fresco dining option. 6. Hemingways
You have your choice of sun or shade on the pavement tables outside this locally owned independent cocktail bar. Select your tipple from their extensive drinks menu, sit back, relax and watch the world go by. If you’re feeling peckish Hemingways serves an extensive brunch menu, and a range of ‘all day eats’ including sharing platters and pizza. They also run a popular happy hour from 4 – 7 pm daily featuring 2-4-1 cocktails and a weekend bottomless brunch.
