If you’re searching for fun things to do with the kids over the Easter Bank Holiday look no further… we’ve got you covered!

Get Crafty!

  • On Good Friday join GM Nicky and her friendly team at the Rose & Crown for a Crafting Workshop, where the kids can show off their creative talents and make their own Easter bonnets. Running from 12 – 3 pm, not only does it promise to be great fun, the afternoon is also being held in aid of a great cause! The team will be asking for donations to St George’s Hospital Charity which is currently running an appeal to raise £5million by 2025 to improve the paediatric wards at the hospital, including the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

  • Head to the Easter Gazebo near the Wimbledon Windmill on Good Friday between 11 am & 3.30 pm or Easter Sunday between 11 am & 3 pm to take part in the Common Conservators’ free to enter Easter-themed Colouring Competition, which they are running alongside their ever-popular Easter Egg Hunt. There are prizes for the winners in each category:
    • Up to 8 years of age
    • 9 to 16 years of age

Explore Local History

After you’ve had some fun at the Common’s Easter Egg Hunt, why not spend some time exploring the fascinating museum housed within the iconic local landmark of the Wimbledon Windmill? The Wimbledon Windmill Museum has exhibits for both young and old, covering windmills and milling as well as local history and the Scouting movement. Allow an hour to enjoy. The museum is open from 2  – 5 pm on Saturday 30th March and 11 am – 5 pm on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Entry is free, but donations are gratefully received.

Alternatively, head to Wimbledon Museum in the heart of the Village for a fascinating insight into the history on your doorstep – the Village, the town, the Common, who lived here and what mattered to them. The museum is open from 2 – 5 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Entry is free.
