We are proud to have an abundance of fabulous female owned and managed businesses in Wimbledon Village. As we approach International Women’s Day 2025, we celebrate just some of the many inspirational women in our community.

Food & Drink

Jennie Allen – Founder, Bayley & Sage

Jennie (pictured above) founded the now hugely successful Bayley & Sage back in 1997 when she opened her first store here in Wimbledon Village. With a vision to create fresh food stores offering the most delicious produce without ever compromising on quality, the B&S story began! With Jennie firmly at the helm, supported by her passionate and committed team, the business now operates in 13 locations across London with a new Hampstead store recently announced. Congratulations Jennie!

Nicky Green – GM, Rose & Crown

Nicky has been General Manager of the award-winning Rose & Crown for an amazing 21 years!  Nicky has been instrumental in establishing the reputation of the Rose as a firm favourite with local residents and visitors alike – particularly during the tennis fortnight when this welcoming pub with rooms attracts customers from all over the world. Check out our Q&A with Nicky to find out more – or better still, drop by for a drink and a chat!

Nikki Santichatsak – Owner, Thai Tho

Nikki (pictured below) opened the hugely popular Thai Tho in Wimbledon Village almost 30 years ago! Over the years Nikki and her team have established the restaurant as a firm favourite with Village locals and tennis stars alike. This IWD why not treat yourself to a delicious freshly cooked traditional Thai meal and check out their fabulous collection of tennis memorabilia?!

Natalie Heath – GM, Hotel du Vin

Natalie took the helm as General Manager of the stunning Hotel du Vin Cannizaro House in January 2024 and has already become an integral part of the Village community. Take the opportunity to raise a celebratory glass with Natalie and her fabulous team at their upcoming Lanson Champagne Dinner on March 17th. Why not buy tickets as an early Mother’s Day gift and celebrate a fabulous woman in your life!

Kelly Duffy – Owner, Hemingways

Since 2010, Kelly has been the proud owner of Hemingways, the only independent bar in the Village. This Saturday celebrate IWD with 2-4-1 cocktails during Happy Hour (offered daily from 4-7 pm) or enjoy a weekend bottomless brunch: 90 minutes of bottomless mix and match cocktails and Prosecco, together with a food item of your choice, for just £35pp.

Fashion

Kate Liszka – Owner, un-common

After almost 30 years in High Street retail, in November 2022 Kate (pictured below) finally followed her dreams to open a small, local, independent shop with the ambition to sell a curated collection of clothing, accessories and lifestyle pieces and un-common was born! Show your support by joining Kate and her team on Friday 7th March at their Denim Workshop. For just £10 you’ll get expert styling advice, a fabulous breakfast and, as all ticket proceeds go to Royal Trinity Hospice, you’ll be supporting a great cause too! Pop in store to book your spot.

Sara Minton – Owner, Boho

When Sara opened Boho Beach Fest in Spring 2017 her desire was to allow customers to source fashionable resort, festival, holiday apparel and accessories all year round regardless of the season. Over the years the store has evolved to provide beautifully curated sustainable and ethical collections for every day wear and occasion dressing, sourced from around the globe. Keep up with all the new arrivals by following Boho on Insta, and when you’re next in the Village make sure to stop by for a browse.

Carline Randell – Owner, Caroline Randell

Caroline opened her luxury boutique Caroline Randell in 2009 with a single mission: to provide perfectly fitting lingerie, swimwear and nightwear to ensure all her customers felt confident and beautiful. Offering an extensive range of quality products from luxury global brands, an exceptional one-to-one fitting service and excellent customer service, this multi award-winning boutique should definitely be on every woman’s must-visit list!

Margo Lefebvre & Michelle Lam – Manager/Assistant Manager, Sarah Pacini

Between them, Margo and Michelle have worked for global fashion brand Sarah Pacini for two decades. This loyalty not only underlines the respect both women have for the company, it is also a reflection of the love they have for the Village and their customers. This powerhouse team have been a key factor in ensuring the boutique’s ongoing success and putting it firmly at the heart of our community, so make sure you drop by and say hi!

Health & Wellbeing

Elisa Withers – Founder, APPI

Seeing a need for an integrated Physio and Pilates service with welcoming clinics, the best equipment, beautiful studios and expert clinicians, Elisa (pictured below) founded APPI – the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute – with partner Glenn back in 2002.  By 2020 the dream had become a reality: APPI had two clinics, one here in Wimbledon Village and the other in Hampstead, a team of over 40 people, and the largest Pilates teaching institute for Physiotherapists in the UK!  In addition to Physio and Pilates, services offered now include Massage, Rehab Therapy and Fitness Classes. Check out their website for more details.

Lucy Pinna – Owner, POSE

When Lucy opened POSE Wimbledon in Spring 2021, her goal was to establish a style of hairdressing that reinforces an understated and inclusive approach to simple beauty. With a dedication to craftsmanship and using only the highest quality products, everything created at POSE is done so with the aim of achieving the exceptional. Thanks to this ethos, and the hard work of Lucy and her team, over the last 4 years the salon has built an extremely loyal client base. To find out more about their services visit their website, or call in for a chat – and a glass of wine!

.

Jemma Meeson, Founder, The Family Treatment Service

Jemma opened The Family Treatment Service after the COVID pandemic, to address a need for access to high quality, flexible mental health service provision when the NHS was under extreme stress. While the practice welcomes clients from across London and beyond, serving the Wimbledon community is at the heart of the business. TFTS continues to go from strength to strength with a second site opening last Autumn and further services added. A free monthly webinar series covering topics including body image, neurodiversities, managing emotions and exam anxieties has also been launched this year, with the first event taking place later this month. Check out our recent Q&A with Jemma to learn more about this inspirational woman and the business she established.

.

Carol Andrews – Owner, Wimbledon Village Stables

Carol has been running Wimbledon Village Stables for an amazing 45 years, since buying the business back in 1980. The oldest recorded riding stables in the country, and a core part of Village life, this hugely successful business is testament to Carol’s drive, enthusiasm and community spirit. If you’d like to explore the stables and learn more about what they offer, meet Carol – and the legendary Mr Fudge, the Stables’ miniature Shetland Pony – head down this IWD between 2-3pm when they’re hosting one of their monthly Open Afternoons.
