SUMMARY:Ludwig van Beethoven: Classical Music's Greatest Revolutionary
DESCRIPTION:A Lecture for The Arts Society Wimbledon by Sandy Burnett \n  \nNext year is the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death in 1827 and so it is a great time to reassess his important legacy. Also available on Zoom. \n  \nTickets: Members free. Visitors & guests: £10

SUMMARY:Watch the Windmill in Action
DESCRIPTION:A chance to see the iconic Wimbledon Windmill sails in action! \n \nEvery 5 weeks one of the WPCC Rangers heads to the roof and releases the brake on the sails to make sure everything is still working and that nothing has seized up. Only for a short time – 30 to 45 mins max – depending on the wind (of course!). If there’s no wind then it becomes a manual turning so the sails will only be turned briefly. \n  \nWhere & When: The Windmill\, Wimbledon Common at 2pm on the following dates through summer/autumn 2026: \n\n\nAug 8th / 9th\nSep 12th /13th\nOct 17th/18th\nNov 21st/22nd\nDec 26th/27th
