DESCRIPTION:This annual fundraising event from Wimbledon Guild is open to everyone – with and without dogs – and offers a short (4km) or a longer (7km) route option on beautiful Wimbledon Common. And for the first time this year\, if you’d like company as you walk then head to the start point just before midday and meet new people to enjoy the route together. \n  \nParticipants are invited to enjoy free pre-walk drinks and snacks at the award-winning Hand in Hand pub and re-energise with a delicious sausage roll from local caterers Two Teaspoons at the end.  Meanwhile every registered four legged friend will receive a fantastic complimentary goody bag from luxury pet boutique Pet Pavilion\, and additional goodies from local estate agents John D Wood and Centre Court shopping centre. \n  \nAll money raised from the event will help fund the Guild’s vital work providing financial\, emotional and practical support to people across Merton. \n  \nWhen and where? \nSaturday 7 October 2023 \nCheck in between: 10.30am – 2.00pm \nWalk between: 10.30am – 2.30pm \nCheck in at the Hand in Hand pub\, 6 Crooked Billet\, Wimbledon Common\, SW19 4RQ \n  \nMake sure to buy tickets in advance as they cost more on the day. \n  \nClick here for more details and to book.

SUMMARY:AFC Wimbledon Wombles Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Wombles Walk… Back To Plough Lane is a 5km or 10km sponsored walk taking place on 30th September in aid of AFC Wimbledon Foundation. The walks are open to everyone and are non-competitive. \n  \nThe 10km walk circles Wimbledon Common\, where AFC Wimbledon held football trials just over 21 years ago\, while the 5km walk circles Wimbledon Park. Both walks end at Plough Lane in time to enjoy the men’s 1st team home game vs Tranmere Rovers at 3pm. \n  \nAll participants will receive fundraising support\, an AFC Wimbledon Foundation t-shirt and a training programme\, created by Execfit\, to help prepare for the walk. Rest stops with refreshments are provided along the route and all finishers receive a medal at the Cherry Red Records Stadium before the game. \n  \nAdult entry is £15 and junior entry is just £5.
