Join Ardara Distillery’s Alan McHugh at Amathus for a Silkie Irish whiskey sampling.

A collection of exceptionally soft whiskeys, the Silkies give an insight into the rich, smoky style of whiskey for which Donegal distillers were once famed, and which the Sliabh Liag Distillers are now reviving.

Having previously spent time as a tour guide at the Ardara Distillery, brand ambassador Alan has built an in-depth knowledge of the Silkie whiskeys and the legend behind their name, which he’ll be only too happy to share with you on the day.

Under Alan’s guidance, you’ll try all three of the core Silkie whiskeys – the Legendary Silkie, the Legendary Dark Silkie and the Legendary Midnight Silkie. And, if you think Donegal whiskey is just for sipping neat, think again! In addition to offering neat samples, Alan will be mixing up some delicious whiskey-based cocktails for refreshing summer drinking, along with a Silkie take on that cocktail classic, the Manhattan.
