Open House Festival: Wimbledon Village Club & Lecture Hall

Explore the historic Wimbledon Village Club and Lecture Hall, designed by architect Samuel Teulon in 1858 and home to Wimbledon Museum, as part of the 2025 Open House Festival. The whole building will be open to explore, with drop-in guided tours revealing both public and hidden spaces.

 

Activities and Events:

 

  • Special exhibition Behind That Door will be on display, uncovering the building’s colourful past and its many connections to Wimbledon’s history.
  • Enjoy a photography exhibition of a series of striking portraits of the building by Shamani Surendran (credit: image).
  • Meet Artist in Residence Alastair Gordon who will be sketching in the museum. Alastair  is working with the museum to produce a show in the Gallery in early 2026, based on drawings of museum objects made during his residency.
  • Take part in drop-in family arts and crafts activities focusing on Houses and Home.
  • On Saturday 13th, go on a fascinating walking tour: Lost Houses of Wimbledon (booking required)

Tickets/Booking: Free event, but booking/tickets required for the Walking Tour. Book through the Open House Festival website.
