At this Friends of Wimbledon & Putney Commons fundraiser event for the Queensmere Restoration Project you will enjoy two captivating talks by award-winning member of the Inner Magic Circle and Arts Society lecturer Bertie Pearce.
In the first talk, Bertie explores the profound mystery of perception, looking at the work of a number of artists including Magritte, Hogarth, and Holbein. Come and see their extraordinary secrets. Can you be sure of what you think you see?
Following a light interval supper, the second talk will be a whistle stop tour of the history of mystery: from 3,000BC to the 21st Century, taking in the earliest illusionists, Music Hall, Harry Potter and even the magic of iPads!
