1. Celebrate World Sake Day – Free Tastings
To celebrate world Sake Day on Thursday 1st October the team @ Amathus are holding a weekend of Kay Sake sampling. Made with just water, rice, koji and yeast, Kay Sake is a premium Junmai Daiginjo sake with a smooth, creamy palate. Lower in alcohol than spirits and with no additives or sulphites, it’s delicious on the rocks and in cocktails. But don’t just take their word for it, call in and try it for yourself – the team will be offering the sake both neat and as an ingredient in some delicious cocktails.

2. Amathus Autumn Drinks Fair
Medium-bodied, earthy reds and white wines with more body and texture really come into their own as the weather cools. Join the team at Amathus to taste a selection from their range of autumnal wines, and take advantage of special case discounts for this weekend only.

3. Autumn Wine & Canapés Night
Raise a glass for a great cause at this cosy evening of delicious wine and seasonal flavours in aid of children’s charity Wooden Spoon. Enjoy 7 carefully selected wines paired with 7 delicious canapés.

4. French Esoterica: Red Edition
Discover more about some of the quirkier regional red wines from across France at this intimate in-store Jeroboams tasting. Taste six carefully selected lesser-known red wines from all over France, featuring unique styles, rare varietals and quirky expressions. From high-altitude Monduese from Savoie, to a rare Côt from Central Loire, there will be a juicy range of oddities to explore. The wines will be accompanied by cheese and nibbles.

5. House of Arras Tasmanian Sparkling Wine Masterclass
With its pristine, cool-climate vineyards, Tasmania is perfect sparkling wine territory. Taking advantage of this, House of Arras has dedicated decades to perfecting a distinctive Tasmanian sparkling wine style that now stands among the finest in the world. Join Toby Spiers from House of Arras, as he guides you through the winery’s story and award-winning wines. Tastings, which will be accompanied by light snacks include:

6. Lindores Abbey Whisky Sampling
A small family-run business, Lindores Abbey Distillery stands opposite the ruins of the Abbey – the site of the first recorded distillation of Scotch Whisky – on the outskirts of Newburgh in Fife. At this free event you will sample two of their lowland single malts: 1494, the distillery’s award-winning signature single malt, commemorating the earliest documented record of Scottish whisky distillation, and the recently released Nectere, which unusually is matured across four types of Sherry cask and offers beautifully balanced complexity.

7. The Italian Spirit: Vermouth, Amari & Grappa Tasting
Italy is known the world over for its distinct aperitivi and digestivi drinking cultures. At this guided tasting you’ll try a range of aperitivi and digestivi from renowned Piedmont distillery Marolo. This includes a selection of their single-variety grappas – each expressing the distinct flavours and aromas of the grape varietal – as well as revived vermouth and fernet recipes from historic brand Domenico Ulrich.
The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of nibbles.

8. Bordeaux, Classic for a Reason
Take a tasting trip to one of the world’s most famous wine regions and try a selection of wines that showcase the variety of styles across it. A flight of six wines will be featured, complemented by cheese and charcuterie. Expect some big-hitters in this event including blockbuster wines from top Châteaux in Saint-Émilion, Margaux, Pomerol, Sauternes and more, trying vintages up to 20 years old.
