A small family-run business, Lindores Abbey Distillery stands opposite the ruins of the Abbey – the site of the first recorded distillation of Scotch Whisky – on the outskirts of Newburgh in Fife.

You will sample two Lindores Abbey lowland single malts at this free event. Made from barley grown in the same fields where the monks of the Abbey once cultivated their crops, 1494 is the distillery’s award-winning signature single malt, commemorating the earliest documented record of Scottish whisky distillation. You’ll also taste the recently released Nectere, which unusually is matured across four types of Sherry cask and offers beautifully balanced complexity.
