About
The Wimbledon Museum is a 100-year-old collection of local treasures celebrating the local history and people of Wimbledon Village, town and Common. It is run by The Wimbledon Society.
Sharing the listed 1858 Arts & Crafts home of Wimbledon Village Club, the Museum is a place where people can not only deepen their understanding of Wimbledon, but participate in collecting and exploring local history.
In 2021/22 the Museum underwent a complete refurbishment and redesign to better showcase what makes Wimbledon such a special place – from the Suffragette movement to Wimbledon in the war, from manor houses to railways. Their treasured collections relate to life in Wimbledon from about 500,000 years ago right up to the present. They also sell a wide selection of publications cataloguing Wimbledon’s rich and vibrant history in their online shop.
The museum is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2:30 to 5pm. Entry is free.
