This annual event honours and celebrates service personnel, veterans, cadets, and their families.

In 2026, Armed Forces Day is being celebrated in Wimbledon Village with a parade, stalls, picnic and live entertainment. Bring your family, friends and picnic blankets for an afternoon of remembrance, celebration and community support.

Event Details:

At Noon, a Community Parade featuring Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, Air Cadets, ex-military personnel and current members of the Armed Forces, accompanied by Youngs Dray horses, will set off from The Village Club on the Ridgway, making its way up the High Street to the Village War Memorial. 

The parade will be followed by a Service of Thanks at the War Memorial (approx 1pm), bringing the community together in remembrance, gratitude and support for our Armed Forces.

Celebrations will then continue on Wimbledon Common, where Armed Forces charities will host stalls to raise awareness of the invaluable work they do supporting service personnel, veterans and their families. Visitors can also enjoy live music until 3pm, community spirit and a relaxed family picnic atmosphere.

Special fund-raising picnic hampers will be available to buy for £20 on the Rose and Crown website, with all proceeds donated to Armed Forces charities. The hampers are a wonderful collaboration between the Dog & Fox, the Rose and Crown, Bayley & Sage and Wimbledon Brewery.
